The Liberty Hall Museum Firehouse

On October 22, 2004, ground was broken for the Liberty Hall Museum Firehouse, which is scheduled to open in late spring of 2005. The Firehouse will be home to three historic fire engines, including a 1928 American LaFrance Pumper once used by the Township of Union Fire Department, a 1927 Seagrave Pumper once used by the City of Elizabeth, and a horse-drawn fire vehicle dating back to the early 1900s. Also on display will be the collection of Stewart B. Kean.

A children's discovery area is planned, which will allow youngsters to dress like firemen, play on a restored fire truck, and have the opportunity to feel like real firefighters.

The Mission
The mission of the Liberty Hall Museum Firehouse is to promote fire safety and education for children, senior citizens, and all members of communities throughout New Jersey and the surrounding area. The Museum will trace the history of firefighters in America through its collection of fire engines and memorabilia.
