Liberty Hall Museum
requests the pleasure of your company for Afternoon Tea

Welcome to tea! The tradition of tea at Liberty Hall was initiated by Mary Alice Barney Kean, the last resident. Mrs. Kean, proud of the house, its history, and its legends, enjoyed nothing more than inviting special friends for afternoon tea and giving them a personal tour of her home, which has played such an important role in American history.

Afternoon Tea is server every Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Please arrive by 1:30 if you plan to stroll our gardens and grounds.

Afternoon Tea is served on the Glass Porch, overlooking the Formal Gardens.

The Afternoon Tea program includes a tour of the house as well as a formal tea meal.

Reservations are required and payment is due when making your reservation.

Private Bookings are available (24 person maximum):

Weekdays the cost is 600.00

Afternoon tea was invented by Anne, Duchess of Bedford (1783-1857), one of Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting, to alleviate her "sinking feelings" as she waited for dinner.
